Bhongir, Bhongiri or Bhuvanagiri is a Mondal and largest municipality in Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located in the of (Telangana region. It is on the National Highway 202 about 48 km from the state capital, Hyderabad. The Town is located around the Bhongir Hill. The Hill has a fort built in the period of the Chalukya King Vikramaditya. The Hill is more than 500 feet (150 m) high spread about 40 acres (160,000 m2). It has an average elevation of 430 metres (1410 ft).
