Safipur is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Unnao district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Safipur is one of the fastest growing towns in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This town carries a very well known golden history in the area of freedom fighters. This is also one of the towns which have given a very eminent scholar in the history of Hindi Literature. Babu Bhagvati Charan Verma is a very well known key figure of Hindi literature. The town's name is derived from the name of a Muslim Sufi saint named Makhdum Sah Safi.
